The ICCX Russia organisers have once again put a highly interesting, diversified conference programme together. The event has yet to find its equal in the Russian concrete industry’s calendar in terms of internationality, innovation and variety – as numerous commentaries from visitors over past years can testify.
For almost 15 years now, the ICCX Russia has offered an ideal platform for fostering business relations, transferring knowledge between suppliers and decision-makers from the concrete and precast industries, scientists, design and civil engineers.
According to statistics from FIRA (First Independent Rating Agency, www.fira.ru), the concrete industry has been enjoying particularly good development since the 4th quarter 2017 especially in the region around St. Petersburg. The production of concrete also rose in other regions of Russia and in the federative district of Central Russia sometimes by even more than 100%.
The ICCX Academy – previously known as Technical Course – will take place as usual on the first of the event’s four days. On 4th December, Prof. Viktor Mechtcherine and Michael Khrapko will guide participants through the full-day concrete technology course, in which all are invited to join in discussions actively and to fully seize the opportunity presented by this occasion. The ICCX Academy will be held as is customary in the Russian language. The subjects for this year’s course can be found on the conference website www.iccx.org.
Scientific and Practical Lectures
The ICCX Russia 2018 will once again feature many interesting and brand-new subjects concerning the concrete industry. As always, the selection of subjects aims to maintain a good balance between scientific and practical lectures given by a fair proportion of both national and international speakers. The very well filled auditorium each year provides repeated proof of the quality of the lecturers and their subjects. The fact that fib and ANMOPYC, the Spanish association of construction machine manufacturers, lend non-material support to the event, demonstrates its high standing in the industry. There is always a Russian-English/English-Russian translation available.
process optimisation in manufacturing sophisticated architectural façade elements. Their talks met with great interest from the 250 persons in the auditorium On 5 and 6th December, the two main days at the ICCX Russia, there will be talks on manufacturing concrete economically and ecologically, recommendations for the technical assessment of concrete on the basis of conformity criteria, quality monitoring in concrete products manufacturing processes, the development of a new steel fibre type, BIM in the context of Industry 4.0 and the advantages of dual mixing systems. The conference programme can be viewed later in this report and can always be found online in its latest version on the www.iccx.org website.
Exhibition with an Extra Great Amount of Information
The two-day conference with its accompanying trade exhibition, at which numerous companies from the concrete sector will have displays, attracts about 1,000 participants each year – not just from Russia but also from many different regions of the world. Once again, more than 100 companies from the concrete and precast industries will exhibit and provide visitors with information about latest developments in the domains of mechanical and system engineering, concrete chemistry, the IT sector plus many other areas. Many companies have been regular exhibitors in Russia since the event’s inception – something which also clearly underlines its importance for the Russian construction industry.
The ICCX Dinner Party follows during the evening of 5th December in the event hotel’s own Paulaner Restaurant and offers an ideal way to round off the conference’s first day. The more relaxed atmosphere of this evening allows the day’s conversations to reach a deeper level or new contacts to be made. Musical accompaniment by well-known local bands naturally remains an established feature of the dinner.
On 7th December, the last day of the ICCX 2018, the ever-popular factory tours are scheduled around concrete production facilities in the region of St. Petersburg. The very great number of participants at this ICCX feature each year confirms how much it has been and is appreciated. This year, a Finnish company, Peikko as Plant Tour Sponsor, will offer an interesting and diversified programme of guided tours. Other alternative factory tours are also in preparation.
