Successful debut event
ICCX Middle East debuted to an enthuastic crowd of concrete professionals, engineers, architectes and developers, all who were glad to be able to attend a conference decitated to concrete and the precast industry. This event, held at the Sharjah Expo Center on November 26th and 27th, brought participants from several Middle Eastern countries together to share in the knowledge and expertice ICCX Conferences are known for.
With an investment volume of 3.1 billion US dollars, construction projects are either currently planned or in progress in the GCC region, which provides an ideal environment for suppliers of equipment, products and services to the concrete and precast industry at ICCX Middle East.
The ICCX Middle East 2017 – the first of its kind – was opened by His Excellence Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of the Sharjah Investment & Development Authority (Shurooq) and also took place under the patronage of His Excellence Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of the Sharjah Expo Centre.

Strong co-operation for a strong event
ICCX Middle East in Sharjah was organised by ad-media GmbH in co-operation with the German-Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK) with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The ultra-modern Sharjah Expo Centre, is idealy situated between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Sharjah International Airport (SHJ), both of which can be reached in 15 minutes by car.
Conference programme - 16 lectures
The conference covered topics that were relevant those involved in the production of concrete products, precast concrete elements and ready-mix. Programme topics were developed in consultation with regional industry experts and reflected relvent topics to the Middle East region from a technical point of view, as well as the marketing of modern concrete structures. Industy experts from Germany, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, and Switzerland covered topics from precast concrete elements, sustainability, the longevity of structures, high-performance concretes, 3D concrete printers, quality control, new generation of paving stones, nanoparticles to geopolymer concrete.
In the trade exhibition of ICCX Middle East, visitors met the leading suppliers to the concrete industries from numerous countries. The trade fair was not just limited to suppliers, but also included industry consultants.
A special feature of the ICCX Middle East, in comparison to other ICCX conferences, was that concrete industry producers reserved stands and presented portfolios of completed and planned projects. This broadened the base of visitors to include project developers and owners who recognized the advantages of building with concrete over other materials.

The second ICCX Middle East will take place once again at the Sharjah Expo Centre on November 25th and 26th, 2018.
